General Description: The Chief Talent Officer works to transform RPS’s HR system from a traditional transactional structure to a strategic office of the division that helps attract, develop, and retain the best and brightest to teach, lead, and serve in RPS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads a comprehensive human capital strategy around recruitment and hiring, performance management, retention, benefits/compensation, and employee development
- Maintains strong customer service-oriented climate by ensuring the Talent Office provides helpful, responsive, and timely support to employees and prospective staff
- Leads, coaches and evaluates a team of direct reports (in Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Benefits/Compensation, Data and System Management, Risk Management, and Teacher/Leader Pathways) to ensure the Office meets its goals
- Modernizes, consolidates, and monitors human capital data systems and processes to develop more efficient and customer-friendly processes
- Serves on the senior leadership team, and acts as strategic advisor, functional expert, and thought partner on organizational issues as well as key Talent issues
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree required
- At least 7 years of senior level experience
- Human capital and education sector experience preferred
- HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or related, preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex ideas simply and succinctly
- Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to motivate and appropriately challenge staff
- Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and ease at managing competing demands and determining priorities independently
- Experience working in a fast-paced, environment; adaptable when managing multiple, shifting priorities; comfortable with ambiguity
- Bilingual/fluency in Spanish preferred
