JOB STATUS: CONTINUOUS

QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of 60 hours of college credits from an accredited college or university recognized by the Virginia Department of Education. Bilingual skills to include Spanish are a plus. 

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: Responsible for teaching a broad range of subjects or specialized subject matter(s). Teaches general education and/or exceptional education students, motivating all students to achieve their maximum potential. Guides the learning process towards the achievement of curriculum goals and within the content of these goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects with the ability to communicate these objectives effectively to students.

 

GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK: Performs professional work providing teaching to students in a specialized subject. Duties performed typically in a school setting. Occasional movement of students in wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Work requires stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, vocal communication for expressing or exchanging ideas, hearing to perceive information at a normal spoken word level and visual acuity for preparing and analyzing written or computer data.
