General Description:
The Regional Data Specialist is a part-time position that supports data-related activities for the regional and local adult education programs in the Capital Region Adult Education program. This work consists of, but is not limited to, a review and analysis of adult education data within the state reporting system, generating periodic data reports, assisting local programs with data input, reviewing data for accuracy creating checks for accuracy, and assisting the regional and local program managers with meeting state and federal compliance requirements related to data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides analysis of program performance based on data collected in the state adult education data system
- Ensures the accuracy of data entered into the system by multiple parties
- Builds data check systems to ensure the accuracy of data and identify areas that need further attention
- Provides support to local and regional data entry teams
- Compiles local and regional data reports on the state reporting tables
- Assists the regional and local program leadership staff with identifying underperforming areas in adult education programming
- Participates in both virtual and in-person regional meetings and staff development activities
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in education, adult education, human resources development, or a related discipline is preferred. An equivalent combination of training, education, and experience may be considered
- Experience working with the Virginia adult education data system
- Skills in adult education reporting, monitoring, and data analysis
- Strong technology skills; essential components of this job are entering, accessing, and analyzing data in the state adult education data system
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Knowledge of grants and reporting requirements for all state and federal adult education grants including Adult Education and Family Literacy (AEFLA), Race to GED, general adult education, PluggedIn Virginia, State Lead Coordinating Agency, and integrated English language and civics education
- Knowledge of Capital Region Adult Education structure and programming
- Knowledge and training in the LACES data system
Additional Information:
- This is a grant-funded position and is contingent upon funds' availability.
- This is a temporary position and can be terminated at any time by Richmond Public Schools
- Work will consist of either day or evening hours, depending on regional data needs regarding input, analysis, and reporting
